Joan Eyre Brown passed away on March 8, 2013 in Richmond, Texas. She was born in Marshall, Michigan to Maurice and Dora Eyre on March 19th, 1952.
While in high school, Joan was active in theatre and arts programs, an activity she continued after graduation from Marshall High School. She worked backstage in lighting for The Marshall Civic Players over a number of seasons, and served on the organization’s board of directors. She also loved to dance and studied ballet for many years. She enjoyed music and going to concerts. Joan was a cat lover and enjoyed helping others.
Joan worked in banking for most of her career but moved into the world of oil and gas in the late 1990’s, working for Global Marine, then GlobalSantaFe, and finally TransOcean.
Joan is preceded in death by her father Maurice Eyre and mother Dora Eyre.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Pat Brown, daughter Jennie Brown Malin, Jennie’s husband Adam, grand-daughter Christine, grandson Addison, sister Paula Eyre Bernard and her husband Gary, her nephew Ryan and nieces Leslie, Rhiannon, and Megan.
Memorial service will be held at Harden Family Funeral Home, 9034 Long Point Road, Houston, Texas 77055 on March 14, 2013 at 11a.m. with Reverend Michael D Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zoey’s Angels, 12403 Maxim Drive Houston, Texas 77065.
