With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Roslyn Baylem, affectionately known as Ros, in Houston Texas at the age of 83, daughter of the late William Ginges and the late Pauline Freedman Ginges.
A graveside burial will take place on Wednesday March 6, 2024 at 2.30pm at Emanuel Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet Street Houston. Minyan will be held in Sydney Australia.
Ros is survived by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Boris Fooks; nieces and their spouses, Rachael & David Cohen and Debbie & Ben Rips and her great-nieces and great-nephew Eden Cohen, Shani Cohen, Itai Cohen and Maya Rips.
Ros was born and grew up in the suburb of Mereweather in the city of Newcastle New South Wales Australia as part of a large family comprising of many Aunts, Uncles, first and second cousins from the Ginges family, Freedman family and Glass family. Her visits back to Australia always meant many catch ups with cousins and family reunions.
Ros left Australia to travel in 1962 and lived in England and Canada before settling in Houston, Texas where she remained for more than 50 years. After working as a Paralegal, at age 50 Ros returned to study and qualified as a Physician’s Assistant. She worked at Village Medical & Memorial Centre for many years where she made life-long friends. At the end of her working life Ros worked for a bail bondman’s office.
Ros will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. May Her Memory Be a Blessing.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers or other remembrances, you honor Roslyn’s memory with a donation to Jewish Family Services in Houston. https://www.alexanderjfs.org/donate
