Ronald E. Levinson, 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 29, 2021.
He was born in Houston October 29, 1941 to Dr. Marcus and Sadie Levinson, of blessed memory. He graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1959, having been very active on the debate and golf team. He was an active member in Cyrus Adler AZA, Ronny went on to the University of Texas in Austin and graduated in 1963. He was very active in Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity at UT, winning an Intermural championship in handball. He loved playing golf and cheering on his UT, Astros and Rocket teams.
He began his career at Foley's Department Store as a trainee. As a manager of the garden department, he was approached with the invention of the Weed Eater. He helped launch that invention at Foleys. He later became an officer in the Weed-Eater company. He stayed in the sales industry throughout his entire career. Ronny lived in Houston his entire life.
Ronny is survived by his sister, Patti Levinson Maltz and brother-in-law Larry (Georgetown, Tx); his niece Mendy Maltz Mitrani (David), (New Braunfels); his nephew Randy Maltz (Austin); great nephews and nieces Morry Mitrani (Lauren), Max Mitrani, Rachel Maltz and Caroline Maltz.
