Richard J. “Dick” Golden, 77, of Houston, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017, at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston, TX. He was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Frances Friedman and Albert Golden. He married Margaret Parker on June 13, 1965 and they had two children. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, his two daughters, Michelle Golden Kelly and Danielle Golden; two grandsons, Parker and Griffin Kelly; sister, Rita Golden Gelman; and an extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.Dick was a long time resident of Orange, CT. He retired to Houston, TX to be close to family.Dick attended Ferris Institute in Michigan and UCONN in Storrs, CT. He was co-owner of two businesses in Bridgeport, CT for many years – Commercial Screen Process and Scratch-It Promotions. He was an active member of the Milford Shriners, Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of New Haven. He was a member of Temple Emanuel in Orange, CT.Dick was a diehard Jets fan his whole life, despite being constantly disappointed by the team’s performances. He enjoyed a weekly game of golf with friends at Orange Golf Club for over 30 years. In retirement Dick enjoyed cooking and entertaining and most of all, story telling. He truly loved being a Texan and got here as fast as he could.The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for him during his last few months.
