Marjorie Scheinthal

September 3, 1934 — January 21, 2022

Marjorie Fern Scheinthal, 87, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on January 21, 2022 in Houston, Texas. She was born in New York, New York, in 1934 to Alan and Edith Glance.
When she met her husband, Murray Scheinthal, it was love at first sight. They first met while he was a gas station attendant. Marjorie and Murray, with their two sons Alan and Steven, relocated to Miami, Florida, in 1962, where Murray bought his first gas station. Three years later, they welcomed their third son, Scott. The family remained in Florida until 1987, when Murray and Marjorie moved to Houston, Texas, to be with their children.
When each of her sons married, she told everyone that she did not gain a daughter-in-law, she received the gift of a daughter. Marjorie welcomed her first grandchild in 1987. Known as Boppa Mom to her seven grandchildren, family, friends, and strangers alike, she was always there to lend a helping hand. Her family often compared her to a cat with nine lives, because of her ability to survive her health challenges for over forty years.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Murray Scheinthal, her parents Alan and Edith Glance, her brother Howard Glance, and grandson Matthew Scheinthal. She is survived by her children Alan and Juli Scheinthal, Steven and Julie Scheinthal, Scott and Suzy Scheinthal, and her grandchildren Jason, Andrew, Lindsey, Erin, Marc, Michael and Sam.
The service will be held at the Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery on January 25 at 2 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the American Heart Association,
www.heart.org
, or a charity of choice in her memory.
