Marilyn Carson passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at age 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Herman Shapiro, her loving husband, Seym Carson and her sister, Dorothy Marks. She is survived by her sons, Danny and Barry Carson and her daughters- in-law Nan and Jill, and her pride and joy, her beloved grandson, Brandon Carson. She is further survived by brothers-in-law Morty and Richard Carson and their wives, Hazel and Sherry, numerous cousins, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great -nephews and two great-great- nieces and one great-great-nephew.One of Marilyn’s fondest memories as a child was performing on theater stages with her sister Dorothy, wearing costumes that were handmade by their mother. As a teenager, Marilyn went to work at Vogue Shoes in downtown Houston where she started as clerk and quickly advanced to position of personal secretary to the owner.As young adults Marilyn and Seym eloped, were married in Galveston, and didn’t tell anyone until six months later. After working as a salesman and housewife for many years, Seym and Marilyn started a business together “Web Devices” which afforded them many opportunities including extensive traveling. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.Marilyn’s Funeral Service will be held graveside, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10 am, in Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet Street, Houston, Texas, 77074. Rabbi Roy A. Walter will officiate.
