Lila Shulak

Lila Shulak, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2015 after a courageous battle with lung cancer at age 84.She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Isaac and Grace Klein, both of blessed memory.  Lila was preceded in death by her one true love, Norman Shulak, to whom she was married for sixty years. Also preceding her in death was her older sister, Francine Morrison.  Lila was the beloved mother of Nancy Gotsdiner (Bill), Lorri Feiwell (Jon), and Michael Shulak (fiancee Elizabeth).  She was a loving and doting grandmother to Jeffrey Gotsdiner, Julie Gotsdiner, Brian Feiwell, and Allison Feiwell.Lila and Norman moved to Houston to start a new life together in 1962 and developed many life-long friendships. She was very warm, loyal and generous to all of her family and friends.  She was well known throughout the community for her exceptional cooking and baking skills.  Her sweet treats were always a highlight of every family gathering!  Judaism was an important part of her life and she was a proud longtime member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun.  She especially looked forward to spending time with her family on holidays and special occasions. Lila was a very special lady and she will truly be missed.The family wishes to thank all those who expressed love and support for her, including her kind caregivers, Ms. Lottie Chatman and Ms. Betty Allen, along with the wonderful staff at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Houston Hospice.The Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 1:30 pm, in Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 1037 N.
