Ellen Heller

Ellen Getz Heller, 83, passed away April 29, 2013. Born on July 4, 1929 in Chicago, she and her family came to Houston in 1939 and she never left. After graduating from San Jacinto High School, Ellen then went to University of Texas. She met and married Irving Heller in 1953. Together they had two sons. Irving predeceased her in 1973.Ellen was self-employed, owning her own Real Estate Agency. She was an accomplished artist and interior designer. She loved pets.Ellen is survived by her two sons, Mark Heller and his wife Ellen of Dallas, and Wayne Heller of Houston. She has two grandchildren Jordan and Garrett.Private funeral services were held on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at Emanu El Memorial Park. Rabbi Samantha Kahn officiated.In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to the Houston Humane Society, www.houstonhumane.org, or a charity of your choice.
