Arlene Lowenstein

Arlene Geller Lowenstein, 83, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 1, 2018.Arlene was born January 7, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY.   She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Geller, her mother, Esther Komitor and her nephew, Jonathan Geller.  She is survived by her two sons, Glenn Lowenstein and wife, Lisa of Houston, Texas and Wayne Lowenstein and wife, Sara of Wappingers Falls, NY; and five grandchildren, Bradley, Shannon, Everett, Abigail, and Rebecca; and her brother Bernard Geller, her niece Jessica and her great-nieces and nephews.Arlene lived in a small apartment with her whole family until she met her husband Alfred.  She raised her two children in a loving home in Flushing, NY while working as a Key Punch Operator and Computer Data Clerk for Heidelberg Eastern printing company.  After retirement, she moved to Houston to help care for her grandchildren.  Arlene also frequently visited with her granddaughters in Wappingers Falls throughout the years.She was a fun-loving intelligent woman, great chef, superb game player, loved embroidery and knitting, and made friends easily.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday March 6, 2018 in the Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 1037 N Post Oak Rd, Houston, Texas, 77055; officiated by Cantor Mark Levine.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels program. https://www.imgh.org/meals-wheels-greater-houston/
