Alan Shretter

Alan David ShretterOctober 30, 1960 – September 24, 2020A loving brother and father, Alan was born to Martin and Joan (Garfein) Shretter in Allentown, PA.  The family moved several times before settling in Houston in 1973.  Alan attended Bellaire High (1979) and went on to earn his Bachelor’s in Business Administration at the University of Houston.After graduating, Alan held several positions in the banking and mortgage finance industry, and later found his passion as a project engineer in construction, building Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn stores.  In his early years, Alan loved to ride dirt bikes and surf, and was a proficient skateboarder and avid bird hunter.Alan was a resident of Austin, Texas, and is survived by his sister, Lynn, and son, Louis, both of Houston;  and was preceded in death by his parents.  He was laid to rest at Beth Jacob Cemetery in Houston on Thursday, October 1.Alan’s memory will be dearly held in the hearts of his family members and countless friends. A video of the Graveside Funeral Service can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/eYIGEcLkPMs
